BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!

This poster's elements represent the privacy infringement and surveillance going on today. Its fonts, colors, and overall theme make reference to the novel written by George Orwell, "1984."

In the book, Orwell describes a world in which everyone is constantly being watched. Their every breath, movement, and thought is relentlessly being monitored by a fictional entity known only as "Big Brother."

The menacing eye with the "lock-shaped" cornea is meant to represent Big Brother; the lock signifying he holds the keys to the viewer's freedom.

The call to action, "Take your FREEDOM Back!" instructs the viewer to "take back" that which they have lost to "Big Brother" (Big Brother being whatever or whoever is violating the viewer's privacy). Notice how "freedom" is in all caps, making it stand out from the other words. It marks the strong meaning of freedom as what is most important in the poster and the state of affairs across the globe today.
